PASCAL MAGNE

Dr. Pascal Magne is the Director of Magne EDUCATION at the Center for Education and Research in Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry (CER BRD) in Beverly Hills. A graduate of the Geneva School of Dental Medicine, he earned his DMD in 1982 and Ph.D. in 2002 while developing pioneering concepts in biomimetic restorative dentistry. Co-author of the landmark book Bonded Porcelain Restorations in the Anterior Dentition: A Biomimetic Approach with Prof. Urs Belser, his work has been translated into 12 languages and has influenced clinicians worldwide. Following research at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Dr. Magne joined the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in 2004 as the Don and Sybil Harrington Professor of Esthetic Dentistry. He led major curricular innovations in biomimetic, minimally invasive dentistry, and adhesive techniques, producing more than 160 peer-reviewed publications and numerous international continuing education programs. In 2021, he published the second edition of his bestselling textbook, Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry, translated in 10 languages, further establishing his role as a global leader in restorative and esthetic dentistry.

PRINTING AND MILLING
YOUR WAY OUT OF COMPLEXITY
LECTURE
This lecture will explore how digital design and modern 3D-printed and milled materials are transforming the way clinicians approach esthetic and full-mouth rehabilitations. By integrating digital workflows, practitioners can simplify diagnosis, treatment planning, communication, and execution while increasing efficiency and predictability. This program evaluates the latest applications of printed models, mock-ups guides, and possibly definitive restorative materials, highlighting their role in reducing clinical complexity and improving patient outcomes. Through clinical cases and practical workflows, participants will discover how digital design and manufacturing can streamline restorative procedures, support minimally invasive treatment strategies, and expand the possibilities of contemporary biomimetic dentistry.
OBJECTIVES: At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:
-
Describe the applications, benefits, and limitations of contemporary digital design, 3D-printing, and milling technologies in esthetic dentistry and full-mouth rehabilitation.
-
Evaluate how digital workflows, including printed and milled models, mock-up guides, and restorative materials, can improve treatment planning, communication, efficiency, and clinical predictability.
-
Implement digital manufacturing strategies to simplify complex restorative procedures, facilitate minimally invasive treatment approaches, and enhance outcomes within a biomimetic restorative framework.
